Okay, I'm super sick of people today already and it's only 9:30. First I get a student screaming at me because his instructor changed the dates of his class. Like this is my fault. So I give him the number and e-mail to contact so he can get a full refund, and he's still bitching at me because I can't refund him the money myself. He's screaming at the top of his lungs, Why can't you see it from my perspective???? Guy, get a grip and let me help you. Damn, people.

Okay, and then I call my credit card people to pay a bill. Lo and behold, there is a $262 charge from prodigy on there. The cancel my account due to what they considered inappropriate material, then they charged me a cancelation fee for breaking contract. Well, I thought no. The inappropriate material was, not porn as some of you may be thinking, but a list of alternate media souces for people to go to other than the mainstream biased accounts after September 11th. Yes folks, I was being unAmerican. I dared to think for myself, which in the past few months, I've noticed, is a far greater crime than it used to be. So after 30 minutes of bitching with them, they not only recredited my account, but reinstated the website. We'll see in the next few days what happens.

So, the next question is, am I addicted to the internet. I know about 5 years ago that would have been a whopping YES, but I've mellowed with age:

You seem to have a healthy balance in your life when it comes to the internet and life away from the computer. You know enough to do what you want online without looking like an idiot (most of the time). You even have your own Yahoo club or online journal! But you enjoy seeing your friends and going out to enjoy life away from your computer.

Re: Prodigy bites

I didn't mind Prodigy too much as they were far less irritating than AOL or CompuServe, which suck in all sorts of imaginative ways, but after this problem I'm on a crusade to banish Prodigy out of existence. Actually, all the major ISPs need to die. I did AOL for the moth I was visiting my parents so I had access and then I had to take the same year you did trying to convince them that I really wanted to cancel. The guy kept trying to tell me that they were the number one ISP out there - I kept telling him that "free" and "less obnoxious" meant more to me than being number 1 by virture of preying on the computer illiterate. Give me a UNIX shell account any day over AOL! After the revolution, ISPs and credit card companies will be the first against the wall!!!!
