So yesterday in - IN - the foothills we had a tornado. And the weather people are all like, that's weird. It's a very rare occurance to have a tornado in a mountain range. Also rare are these little micro bursts that keep erupting all over Denver. A couple of days ago one just trashed a cemetary not far from where I live and took down a lot of branches outside my home.

In more weather fun, we're looking at a three digit temps this weekend with a high fire threat. Woohoo!

So I'm looking into ways of becoming carbon neutral. I'm getting info from my energy co. about using only wind energy and then I may try to offset the rest of my carbon emissions through supporting folks that provide wind/methane energy. I'm also trying to learn as much about subsistance living as I can, because I am very sick of the pollution, waste and insanity of the post-modern world.

I've been doing that as well. Little bit by little bit, but even so. I tell ya the biggest shocker to me was finding out what a huge difference air drying your clothes makes. I had no idea dryers were that bad for the environment.

Yeah, dryers are energy suckers. Dishwashers too. It's amazing when you stop to think about how much you use on a daily basis that's horrible for the environment. And it's getting tougher for me to bitch about the evil corporations doing all those evil pollution things, when I'm using my environment suckage appliances everyday. As soon as I neutralize my carbon emissions I'm giving myself permission to start bitching about them again.
