Now I need to make a general plea. Not really to anyone on my friend's list, just a general one so that I don't pull my hair out and start screaming at the computer screen. At least not at work. . .

STOP SENDING ME EMERGENCY EVACUATION DISASTER PLANS!

I've received about five in my mail box today. It's a fear mongering tactic that the government and media started to keep us all afraid and supporting the war. Those terrorist and Iraqis are out there waiting to harm us all! Well, thanks, except that we wouldn't have these fears and worries if we'd stop the irrational WAR MONGERING!

Forgiving all of that, what exactly are plastic bags and duct tape suppose to do? I'm reminded of the South Park "Volcano" episode with the duck & cover film on lava safety. Last I knew from my high school biology, chem and physics classes, plastic wasn't exactly a deterent for bio/chem or nuclear weapons. Radiation from a "dirty bomb" is not going to turn away defeated by plastic bags. Bio/Chem weapons are not going to be used against your suburban homes in bumfuck Iowa. Those weapons are not effective unless unleashed in a highly populated metro area.

I'm waiting for the call to sacrifice an unblemished lamb and paint the blood on my door post. They're practically already telling us to keep our sandles on our feet with staff in hand. . . =P

I remember ... way back in the days of yon... I think it was in the 70's days of yon... During the epidemic of the "Hong Kong Flu", Pat Robertson announced that if you didn't want to get the Flu (because, as we know, it is one of the 7.3333 plagues)You were to put oil on the lintal and two side posts of every door in your house.

My two friends kept bugging me about this all week. I refused to be interested. They even were trying to set up a meeting place and saying I had to have my mobile phone on me all the time and trying to figure out which building near us would have the best basement :(

Rep. John Lewis is going to be in town for some special event in a few days. I should go see him so he can offer me some comfort. The last time I saw him was when he was here for an anti-war rally this fall, which, though small, was "the biggest peace rally ever held in Georgia."

Nah. That'd just protect your first-born son. Not much use if you ask me. LMAO.

I'm personally apathetic to the thought of death. If we die, we die. I'll just make sure to haunt Bush for a long while if he's still alive. Otherwise I'll haunt someone else of my choice.

Of course, I also plan on breaking out the beer and popcorn if something major happens, so that's just me.

It's amazing to me how many people live in the constant state of fear. For various reason, I do think something can very likely happen here - but these disaster plans are out of control and so utterly useless for anything but keeping people in a perpetual state of fear. If we stop threatening war, maybe our fears would subside.

Going to the rally tomorrow in Colorado Springs - the most conservative city in Colorado. Might be interested to see what fear does there. . .

Very proud =) It's becoming more and more shocking to me the amount of people that are preparing for the worst, buying their little terror-emergency kits and still support the president. I just wonder when the causal connection there will sink in. . .

I don't currently have Showtime. Waiting for QaF to return before subscribing to it again. . . *g* I'd love to see it though.

As for duct and covered - that works. Amazed at what some of these people are doing. We has one guy here filmed wrapping his entire house in plastic. I wonder how many people are going to suffocate as the result of playing with plastic bags. Ridge later comes out saying "Um, we didn't quite mean to go that far. . ." Well then stop fucking terrifying the people with your little colorcode scheme there, eh, Tom? *sigh*
