From CNN: Army halts recruiting for a day: Focus on ethics after allegations of questionable recruiting practices
To say that the army engages in questionable recruiting practices is kind of like saying the sky is blue. Nice to see the military forced to address it though. I do wonder if eventually this will this be the thing that finally pushes the US to reinstate the draft. Recruitment is way down, understandibly. There's got to be a huge loss of confidence among kids that if they signed up their country wouldn't send them off to get used as targets for the hell of it. Now with this scandal finally getting media attention...?
(...)recruiters in the Denver, Colorado, area helped a student get a fake diploma and pass a drug test. The student, David McSwane, 17, posed as a high school dropout with a drug problem for an article for his school newspaper.
