So I get this call from a law student that wants to take a Spanish-law class with us in the summer. There's a placement test to take online if they want to skip the beginning level, which he does. Fine. However, the test will not be offered until March 15th. Registration doesn't begin until April 4th. Classes begin June 6th. The student, who starts out giving me attitude from my first hello, is telling me that it is unacceptable that he has to wait till the last minute to take the test. I tell him that unfortunately the online test will not be available till the 15th, but as it's 20 days before he can register for the class and 2 1/2 months before the class actually begins, it's not really last minute.
He hears none of it. Because, you see, he WANTS IT NOW! He proceeds to yell again at the unacceptability of the situation. I tell him I'll transfer him over to the language director as she has a little more control over time and space than I have. So I transfer him there. About 10 minutes later I get a call from the dingbat language advisor. How he got her number, I don't know. But she's the most useless member of the advising team. She puts him on a conference call with me and tells me there seems to be some confusion over when he can take the test. I tell both the advisor and the student that there is no confusion, the test won't be available till March 15th and registration is not till April 4th. He then proceeds to scream loudly that he "JUST WANTS TO TAKE THE FUCKING TEST!" - I tell him that he's not to talk to us in that fashion again or I'll contact the law school and they'll take disciplinary action against him for misconduct. He replies "I didn't say anything." The dingbat advisor, rattled by it all, ignores what he did and continues to tell him she'll contact the director and find out the details regarding the test and when he can take it.
Dingbat advisor called me back a little while ago to inform me what she found out about the test to clear up my confusion: the test won't be available till March 15th and registration is not till April 4th. Thank God for the cut and paste function. I tell her "Isn't that what I told you and the student already?" She replies, "Yes, but I just wanted to clear up the confusion." THERE IS NO CONFUSION YOU FUCKING MORON! What pisses me off is that she has the rank of an assistant director. I want her fucking salary!
Stupidity should be painful.
Unrelated we have two students by the name of Steve Stevenson in our records. They are brothers. Did George Foreman's brother name these guys?
