I'm here only because I have to work in order to live. . . been sick all damn weekend. Went from sinus infection last weekend to the flu on thursday - I've not been able to eat since then. Tried eating yesterday, big mistake. Good news is I've gone down a dress size. Woohoo! Dieting through disease seems to be the only way I can do it.
Good news is that I fixed the problem I was having with my Duo/Quatre fic. Bad news is that I forgot to forward it to my work address so I can't do anything with it till tonight. Sucks because we're slow today and it would be perfect to work on now.
Okay, I was watching the Japanese originals of GW the other night and this is my conclusion on the voices:
Trowa - Best overall. He seems to win with both voices, but his Japanese one is VERY smooth.
Heero - Very nice, but I like his English voice too.
Duo - much better than his English voice, but not as great as everyone said it would be.
Wufei - indifferent to it.
Quatre - Scary. Let's just go with the English one, shall we?
Zechs - Oddly enough, I like the English better. Sure he sounds like a snake in the US version, but at least it's distinctive.
Treize - I was bleh with this one too. US voice seems to carry a little more authority to it, which is quite an accomplishment considering the amount of valium this guy is on.
Une - now she I thought was kick ass, though I do like her English voice too.
Didn't hear Noin or Relena yet, but something tells me Relena will scare me.
Other things I did between vomiting this weekend:
Bought a purple skirt on sale.
Watched movies - one of which I even remember.
Helped pick out a balloon for a friend's birthday (it was a big balloon)
Wrote a little fanfic crap.
Missed Queer as Folk - feel Emmitt depraved.

Re: Sorry...
I am feeling better now - just can't eat much yet. I was serious about the dress size. Could turn out to be an opportunity ;)
Trowa just inspires fine voicemanship, I think. As for Zechs - it's not that the Japanese voice was bad - just a non-event for me. Now, I do think that the English one sounds like Ka from Jungle book - maybe a bit more throaty, but it leaves an impression *g*
I need to run and hide from Quatre's Japanese voice. I seriously hate it. I mean, like all his sections of the series need taken out and burned, I hate the voice that much.
Now Duo disappointed me. Not because it was a bad voice, but because it was nowhere near the Godliness that so many claimed. It was better than the English version, granted, but it had been really built up as the end all be all of voices, and frankly, Trowa's and Heero's voices blew his out of the water.
As for voice actor stuff - all I can remember is Scott McNeil (Duo) and Phil Harris (Baloo)*g*
