I think I've gotten caught up with most of my work after being out for two days. Went to the doctor's yesterday to deal with migraines, severe back pain (some of you remember all my back issues *g*)and my latest of irritating yet not deadly ailments, acid reflex disease. Woohoo!

So I'm on heavy meds right now - far too groggy to work, but here I am anyway. Want to sleep, but can't 'cause work. This might be ideal fic writing weather if I can sit upright long enough. I'm on four meds, and while none of them are NyQuil, they just might do the trick.

On the news front, more depression: Anti-U.S. Profs Targeted

Campus Watch is doing it's best to discredit professors at universities that express what The Watch deems as un-american and pro-terrorist.

While I will grant that there are some professors that push their agendas, I do know for a fact that all their posts on Colorado University are false in accusation. I have no reason to trust anything else this site posts if they do not check the information on people and schools that are getting bashed.

Sympathy

... from me and specially from Chris. What do they have you on for Acid Reflux? Chris takes Nexium. His advice? "Make friends with vanilla pudding, milk, and ice cream - bascially heavy on dairy. Sometimes, even with medicine that cuts off the flow of acid to the esophagus, you'll get a burning sensation in your throat. Vanilla Milkshakes (or that THING McDonald's serves that they call a vanilla milkshake) work well to combat this.Acid Reflux burns your teeth, you'll probably want to get dental insurance when you can afford it. Avoid tomatoes & highly acidic food, and give up soda & carbonated beverages if you can. I've also found that clean air will help - go to a park, or have plants in your apartment. An important thing to remember is that gas will increase - you may get upper pains in your solar plexus - this is part of the acid problem, its usually not your heart. Be careful of idiot doctors and idiot people who cook what they want when they want regardless of whether you can eat it. Exercise as much as you can, side bends will help you. Oh, and move around - don't stay sedentary. You may have to lie on your side when you sleep once a while too, that feels more comfortable than lying on your back when acid levels are up."

As you know, Chris has had this since he was 17, so he knows what he's talking about. Hope it helps!

Re: Sympathy

*HUGS*

Thanks Cathy =) Unfortunately for me, I'm becoming lactose intolerant in my old age =P Plus I have a gluten allergy, which makes finding alternate foods to eat rather difficut. I've just about cut carbonated drinks out of my life though - only drink it on the very occasion. I'm waiting for the day they just hook me up to a machine that feeds me the right things so I don't have to worry about it anymore. Might help my dress size too ;)

Thanks for the sleeping tips, it was getting bad at night. I can't remember the name of what they gave me for the acid reflex - I left the bottle at home, but I'll look it up later. As for dental - I've got it with my job now =) Along with eye care and a whole bunch of goodies! I'm starting to like this real job thing ;)

Hope Chris is doing well!

Re: Sympathy

Soy Milk might help too. We have a LOT Of soymilk in this house, and although Chris turns his nose up at it, I have seen him take a swig out of the bottle! LOL!

Chris is doing ok. Employment is bleak in the east, so he's going back to school to get Microsoft certifications, and some network certs. *sigh*. He keeps on goin' and doesn't let anything hold him back.
