I called Carl today and asked for a recommendation to grad school. He said he'd do it! *snoopydance* I will reframe from using the "Die Carl" icon until I've either been accepted or rejected from the program. The good news is that Carl has worked with the CU Boulder Philosophy program in the past and knows many of the professors there. The bad news is - drum roll - this means they know Carl.

I've also left messages with two other professors I had great academic relationships with - hopefully they reply and don't make me call again. I hate doing that. Then I feel like I'm pestering. But it's Friday and they may not have been in today. This is why I need to be a professor. Four day weeks. I probably shouldn't put that in the letter of intent.

I'm telling them the due date for the letters is a month earlier than it actually is, as it seems a typical thing for most professors to send late letters. I find it amusing that most admin sites at university suggest lying to your recommenders so that they send the letters on time.

I finished the online application - now it's onward to my letter of intent...
