I actually finished the thesis as of the April 1st deadline. Sent it off at 11:50 p.m. How's that for being down to the wire? Happy Birthday to me! Total page count is 86. That may change as Carl asks for revisions, but for now it will do. I'm done till it begins again. That will probably be this weekend, but with the crux of it is finished - the rest is tweaking. I'm a much better tweaker than writer. True genius, as Vonnegut once said, is having the ability to edit yourself into something like intelligence. We shall see.
I couldn't imagine sitting at the computer a second longer after that, hence the hiatus from LJ. Between April 1st and the 6th I've been most productive in returning to my naturally slothy self.
Saw Sin City which shocked me more in how much I enjoyed it than the actual violence that kept splashing across the screen. I loved this film. Every bit of it. It renewed a love of Bruce Willis I hadn't had since Pulp Fiction. It was more than the cathartic need to see vast amounts of blood spilt after writing a thesis and feeling the need to issue out punishment, it was superb film making.
Also finally saw last week's Lost. Locke. What else can be said? Yes. I love you. If he goes all Marlan Brando style evil now it will never take away this episode. And Jack? I amazingly enough enjoyed him. Like as an actual working and fully participating character. Bitchy and snide works for him. Yeah, you did it for Kate, buddy. We all saw the sparks between you and Sawyer, give it up. Now we work Sayid in there and it's all but won for Team Slash.
Hm, we're interviewing people for the position of my slave. My boss is letting me sit in on the interview process. I get to decide who lives and who dies. Rock on!
