Sirens are going off here, the likes of which I've never heard before in my five years of living here. The sky is a sickly slate green/gray. Looks like funnel clouds have been spotted. There's about a half inch of hail in some of the surrounding counties.
Not gotten the word yet that we can run to the basement, but we've cleared the second and third floors and have all gathered to my office to listen to the radio. I think this is the first time in the past three weeks that the phones have finally stopped ringing. Even when there's peace, there's no peace. Sheesh.
Reminds me of the good ole days in New Orleans while we waited out hurricanes. I feel a need to run to the market and buy up all the spam and canned meat products. . .

I do remember the 'Hurricane Closet'. Didn't you have smoked oysters or something that tasted like erasers?
Stay safe!
