A little bit of light. . .

I heart our new Mayor. The first day he held office he decided to raise a million dollars for after school programs for kids - and he got it. There's a parking meter outside of his office. To talk to him, people have to feed the meter. Whatever they put into the meter is how much time they get.

Now he's supporting gay marriage rights and he'll be leading the rally at the steps of the state capitol this morning. He's going up agaisnt Governor Owens, and our Senator's Wayne Allard and Ben Nighthorse Campbell. All Republican's, of course.

In the news, he said he supports love, romance and tolerance.

Yay for cools mayors. I love our mayor Shirley Franklin. She rocks! Don't know where she sides as far as gay marriage but I know the City Council President is way for it -- she's an out lesbian. She and all other out gay politicians in the state (um, that's like 3) are spending most of this week getting on our Legislature's case (they are trying to ammend the state Constitution to ban you-know-what, even though state law already strikes it out, supposedly).
