So the other day I slipped on the ice and caught myself on my hand, which proceeded to continue sliding and flew out from under me. I'm told that was a good thing, otherwise my wrist would have been broken. I feel lucky. Anyway, I tore the muscle in my shoulder under the rotating cuff. Got to see all the x-rays. My shoulder bone is shaped like a hook. It tore right into the muscle and meshed it all up. They gave me a shot directly into the muscle to take down the swelling. It's feeling a bit better and I have more mobility, but it still hurts like hell and now I have physical therapy to look forward too for the forseeable future =P

On the upside, I finally was able to watch the extended version of TTT yesterday. 45 addtional minutes. Let me tell you, it needed the footage they cut out put back in. I think for FotR it was just a nice add in - but for TTT it made a huge difference. A couple of things made more sense. Like the horse that comes for Aragorn after he falls from the cliff is explained and the flash backs to Boromir and Faramir give some great insight as to why Faramir initially acted the way he did with Frodo. Of course, it get explained a bit more in RotK, but it was nice to have it in TTT and I liked seeing Boromir with his brother. I think he's given far more depth in this scene as well.

The opening scene with Sam and Frodo is also longer and very nicely done. And the documentary they do on the creation of Gollum is WELL worth owning the extended version. There's also a fun documentary on the stunt actors. Nice quotes from Viggo, Orlando and Elijah there. Buy the extended version if you can, is my rec.

With the rate they keep adding in more footage for the DVDs, I'm afraid RotK will actually have an extra movie added in *g*

Ooo, nasty virus going around. Took down a couple of departments on campus. Click here: W32.Novarg.A@mm for details.

You know... physical therapy might not be so bad. I had that for my back for a couple months, and it was actually *nice*.

Electric massage, and hot pads, and chiropractor adjustments... and more important, time to myself! To just sit in the waiting room with a book or magazine. ;)

OOF! I'm glad it wasn't worse, but I'm sorry you're hurt. This weather SUCKS! Walking is treacherous here too.

Re:

The weather is psycho! We get 50s, then a freak snow storm, now it's warm again. It's amazing we're not all sick again =P

Thanks for the line :)

I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. It will pass, the pain will heal, the shoulder will work again. It takes time, yet it does soon enough fade into the mists of time.
