Anyone catch Queer Eye last night? Anyone beside me think that mom was going to spontaneously combust?

There was the poster mom for teaching your child low self-esteem and how not to be yourself because you're just not going to measure up looking like that. This poor guy is scared as all hell that someone is going to find out his secret. How many times did he say he felt like a huge burden had been lifted once they took off the toupee? I just found it amazing that she could sit in front of a camera for all the world to see her degrade her kid for not having a perfect head of hair. Jesus. Do people know how shallow they sound?

I liked the outcome. I think he looked a lot better without the rug and that's not because I'm a Kyan groupie.

Kudos to his wife. She was a doll. And I loved when mom came up and asked where her son was the wife just said "upstairs" and walked away. Yeah, I could feel the love between mother and daughter in-law ;)

I was watching QE with justhuman last night and said I'd bet dollars to donuts that the mom felt the paint colors on the walls was too "ethnic".

I thought the wife was great, and it's so nice to see spouses/significant others who are actually supportive and not like hooker Lisa. I also predict a conversation in the future about how now maybe they can stop listening to the mother's nitpicks about every damn thing in their marriage 'cause you know she didn't restrict herself to the hair.

Yeah, mom was eyeing that house like the walls and furinture were going to jump up and attack her with subliminal mind tricks to turn the entire family gay. And now we know why son can't commit to anything like a china pattern or coffee table. Can you imagine what it was like growing up with her? Just waiting for her disapproval?

I mean there was nothing in that house before the guys transformed it. If they painted racing stripes through the house and decorated it with steel wool it would have at least added some color. And they did a beautiful job in that house.

You could definitely hear the seeds of a "mother" conversation between him and his wife.

Mom was uber bitch. She's the kind of mother that people spend years in therapy trying to overcome. And what killed me is she didn't even bother to "fake" liking any of it on camera. It's no wonder the guy was had such low esteem. But he married a good woman. *Hands up if you thought he looked like Matt Lauer of the Today Show, both with and without the wig?*

And yeah, mom gave me the impression that the only thing going through her mind was probably "He did this to hurt me." Or worse, that his wife put him up to it to hurt her. =P
