Well, I had my annual performance review today. I was nervous as all hell, as usual when these things come around. I goof off enough on LJ that I fear one day they're going to say, "You do a great job surfing the web. Unfortunately, that isn't your job."
But lo and behold, I got a good review =) I got exceptional marks all the way down the list. Mostly for writing the software registration documentation for the office and an interactive comprehensive system for downloading files and documents on our intranet. Woohoo! They like me =) I get to stay and collect a paycheck. In fact, come January, I may also get a merit raise. Here's hoping we don't go bankrupt first. . .
Now I have a new fear to concentrate on. Got a call from the doctor's office on my lab results. They want me to come in tomorrow to discuss them. @_@ Maybe I shouldn't be nervous, but usually when I get blood test they call and say "Take iron pills, you're anemic." Or, "Jesus girl, lay off the donuts, your colesterol is through the roof!" I've never been asked to come in and "discuss" the lab results. So I'm a little nervous. But I'm with a new place, so maybe this is just how they do things. Which is more personal and customer service oriented, so that's nice. Or, alternatively I have 24 hours to live. I made the appointment for before I go into work tomorrow. They're probably like "Not like it will matter, heh, heh, heh."
It occurs to me that my cynicism in the political arena has slithered over to other aspects of life.
Speaking of which - Michael Moore tonight!

From my experience, it's just a regular procedure to discuss the results in person - they never called me or any member of my family with the news. So, I hope it's just their style and everything is fine.
