The insanity of open registration has begun. Mixed blessings it seems - we're busy, but not overwhelmed. We're usually overwhelmed at this point, so I guess we're heading into another low enrollment season. Not good. But the economy here is so bad, I guess it's not surprising. Looks like Denver's boom days are over. Good news is that I don't want to slit my wrists this morning - the flow is at least bearable.

Weekend news - made ice cream. I made a dark mocha, cinnimon, toffee chip blend that is - if I must say so myself - divine. Very happy with the ice cream. It's going to take me about a year to eat it, I think.

Finally saw Star Wars II. I'm not sure what to say about it. . . I thought Ewan was good, though I was getting tired of the "What took you so long?" jokes. I guess it was visually entertaining enough. The dialogue was just plain awful. All the cheese I expected was there. Ani's pickup line about the sand being course and dry was even worse than when I read it on Ebert's report. I can't say I was disappointed, because George Lucas never managed to get me enthused about the past two movies to begin with.

I'm not sure which Anakin sucked more, baby Ani or the little kid from episode I.
Seriously, Anikin, the padawan Jedi, is the brattiest baby since Luke Skywalker. I guess that makes sense given the father/son thing - If nothing else, it's good that we know where Luke got it from. But it's still hard to believe that this emotional wreck of a two year old is going to be the calm, cold and sinister Darth Vader. I can get Anikin turning to the dark side, but nothing about this jerk says "*special* sort of evil" to me.

And I can't stress enough the lack of chemistry between Anikin and Amidela. If anything, she seems mildly amused by him - then out of the blue "Oh, by the way, I've always loved you." Sure. What was there to fall in love with? He acted more childish here than in Episode I. Leia and Luke have got to be of a virgin birth. The mere thought of Ani & Ami having sex

I liked the final battle with all the Jedis. Nice to see Ewan and Samuel fighing side by side. Other than that - it wasn't all that intersting - too much recycled bad dialogue.
