I'm frightened. Someone asked me today if I had any aspirin with me, so I unload my purse and dump out a bottle of Excedrin, a bottle of Motrin, a baggy of Tums, Visine eye drops, a bandaid, and a little purse sized tissue pack.
When did I start packing a first aid kit in my purse? My mother did that all the time, for which I was grateful, but up until the time I got my current job, I was lucky if I even carried a purse with me. I've always been the type to shove my money or credit card in my pocket and rush out the door. Now this purse/medical-kit stuff. . . And I was thinking I might have to get a bigger purse soon. What has my life come to? Where's the living by the seat of my pants carefree lifestyle? Does responsibility come with being thirty? What is this?

I empathize dear lady. Sometimes I long for the days of slim wallet in the backpocket and keys attached to my jeans. I felt so efficient.
Except, I no longer wear pants, so must have purse of somesort - so I got a mini backpack.
Backpack has *so* much more room than pocket, but is less convinient than winter coat pocket.
Must have tissue, lipbalm, change, keys, wallet, reading material (book) and possibly water in summer.
Backpack still has more room, and who wants dirty hands so - wet wipes, bandaid, a little bottle of alcohol, a bottle of almond oil, a cookie in a ziplock bag (I don't know why)
And the thing is, I can't understand how I manged in the past without having fingernail clippers to hand, or two sets of painkillers (precription and otc) and a cd for when I'm really, really bored.

I do have a backpack I use a lot - my work and school environment is the same - I think the only item I never carry around with me are the wetwipes because I never thing to buy them. Might be useful though, hmmmmm. . .
I'm lookingin my backpack right now. I've got my CD player and a two books. I guess I'm just planning for the Armageddon.
