Today is orientation for the summer quarter at my school. So typically I give a 15 minute schpiel on what an academic advisor can do for the students. I usually have to psyche myself up to do it because I hate speaking in front of people - but I'm so used to this info that it's no big deal anymore.

However I found out Tuesday that they are now holding presentations for the parents and they want the advisors to speak at all of them. There are 5 parent presentations. Why? I'm not sure. I've been to 3 of them thus far and have only met 6 parents. The brilliant part is that even though each one had 2 parents, they can't seem to make it to the room at the same time, so I've had to give 2 talks at each session. I haven't even gotten to the student one yet.

At least they're feeding us lunch and dinner today...
