Trying to focus on the positive, today I am officially 2 weeks gluten free. As far as I know at least. No gluten has knowingly passed these lips, but it's in so many things it's possible it might have snuck in. But the important thing is that I'm actively trying to keep it out. So it's better than the bread, cookies and pasta I was scarfing down before. Go me!

I'm really hoping no one decides to make me a cake on Thursday. That might be awkward to not eat. But I'm sticking to my guns - absolutely no gluten. I'm all up for ice cream cakes though. Think a memo would be a little too forward of me? "Dear co-workers, due to my gluten intolerence, please buy me an ice cream cake. Love & kisses, Steph."

And now I'm official point person for all things blackboard related. Blackboard is the software we use for online classes. This means I'm liasion for the nazi tech unit on campus, UTS. Woohoo! One more group of people to fight with on a regular bases. But, it looks nice on a resumé to say I fought evil tech nazis. I keep saying that whenever I get a new job tossed on me. "Well, it looks good on a resumé..." I also get to work closer with Paul, whom I love. So, this isn't so bad. We shall see after I'm trained on it, I guess.

Send the note or tell whoever the likely person would be to buy a cake. There's no difference between that and making sure somebody doens't take you out to Longhorn Steakhouse when you're a vegetarian.

Besides, ice cream cake is better than the cake people usually buy at a supermarket ;)

This is true. But I'm actually not sure they'll do anything due to all the budget cuts. Typically this type thing comes out of the petty cash, but this year they cut all that. So b-day stuff seems to get done by the fairies these days - I honestly don't know who'll do it or if they'll do it at all (espcially with all the layoffs).

Not that I mind if they don't - I'm just feeling weird about saying anything if they weren't planning on anything to begin with. But if they do, I'll feel bad if I can't eat it. Oh well. These are the types of problems people *want* ;)

Send the memo! There's no point in someone making something for you, if you're not gonna eat it!

Why the cake? Do you have your b/day?

Congrats on the gluten-free weeks! And happy early birthday. I'll be at Connexions on the actual day, so won't be able to tell you then. [HUGS]
