Well, I've completed another resumé and off to lunch soon to turn it into the HR office. I'm hoping that the pool for this job is slim. I'm definitely qualified, but the market is very tough. I'm a little disheartened by the fact the close date is this Friday. Only a week for resumés means that either they are desparate and need help very quickly or that they have someone else in mind for the job and they're just posting the position because they are required to by law. I hope it's the former.
Right now, all I want is at least an interview. Through all my job hunt experience, I interview well. I've only lost a job once when I interviewed and that was because of interference from my current boss. I wonder what she would have done if I had left and there was no one to take over the two jobs they pushed on me when they laid off my co-workers. . . But I have the knowledge that I was at the top of the other department's list for the job, and that gives me a little encouragement.
Slept in today. I didn't hear the alarm over the fans. Even though there was a snow storm last night, the heat from the condo below can make the bedroom very hot at night, so I had the fans going. Had I realized how much they blotted out the clock radio, I would have turned the buzzer on instead. Stupid me. I had to ask for a ride into work and was graciously given one. My boss thought it was funny. Were it not that she's doing all in her power to keep me at this job against my will, I might like her.
