The last Bacchus parade I attended had Drew Carey as Bacchus. Not nearly as cool. Hopefully the float won't break down for 2 hours this time. Or if it does, maybe Elijah can at least lead the people in a few hobbit songs at make toasts with strong ale and some shire weed.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Elijiah Wood, who plays Frodo in the “Lord of the Rings” movie trilogy, will reign as king of a Mardi Gras parade in February.
Wood, 22, will be the youngest person ever to reign as Bacchus when the 36th annual Krewe of Bacchus parade rolls on Feb. 22.
“Elijah Wood is going to be a great Bacchus,” said Owen Brennan, the captain of Bacchus. “He’s very enthused to be a part of New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, and we think he’s going to be a great king.”
